How do I search for a camera?

We currently offer you four searches, which allow you to select the exact camera you are looking for.

Use the Quick Price Search at the top of the page if you know the price and type of camera you would like to buy. Use the Quick Camera Search next to it if you want to view a particular model of camera, or if you want to search for all cameras by a particular manufacturer.

Use the Archive Search in the top-right corner to search not only cameras, but lenses, accessories, news, features and techniques.

Finally, we have the Comprehensive Camera Search underneath the menubar, the most powerful search we offer. This allows you to search our database for cameras with specific options or features, compare cameras side-by-side and save our results for later.

How do I use the Quick Price Search?

The Quick Price Search is located at the top of every page on digicambuyer.co.uk. Click the "Price Search" tab in red at the top of the page and a Quick Price Search menu will drop-down allowing you to search for cameras by price range (e.g £100-£200) and then by camera type (e.g. Compact). After selecting your criteria, click the "Search" button.

You are presented with the Search & Compare page showing all the cameras with the criteria you selected. Refine your search by clicking the Go Back and Refine Search button or by scrolling up the page.

You can also select just the price range or just the camera type to return more results.

How do I use the Quick Camera Search?

The Quick Camera Search is located at the top of every page on digicambuyer.co.uk. Click the "Camera Search" tab in red at the top of the page and a quick search menu will drop down allowing you to search for cameras by manufacturer (e.g. Canon) and then by camera model (e.g EOS 450D). After selecting your criteria, click the "Search" button and you'll be sent to the profile page for that camera.

If you leave the camera model selection as all models, you'll be taken to the Search & Compare page, where you'll be able to see all the models of the manufacturer you selected.

How do I use the instant database search?

The Archive Search is located at the top of every page on digicambuyer.co.uk next to the logo. Start typing the specific word or phrase you are looking for into the text input box and when the third letter is typed, you are presented with the three closest matches from each section on the website.

Refine your search by continuing to type and then click the article you're looking for to be taken to it.

How do I use the Comprehensive Search and Compare?

This is the most comprehensive and powerful search we offer. It allows you to gradually refine your search by selecting specific requirements of the type of camera you want. Click the "Comprehensive Digicambuyer.co.uk Camera Search - Try it Now!" graphic located under the main navigation bar.

If you haven't searched for a camera on the site before, you will be presented with the widest search criteria available. Searching now will show every available camera review, so it's your job to refine the search to find the exact type of camera you are looking for.

Certain criteria such as Manufacturer and Camera Type are automatically selected to give you the widest choice. If you don't want some of these, just uncheck them. You can also use the 'Select All' and 'Select None' options on the left.

Our intuitive sliders allow to zero in on the details that you want. Simple drag the buttons along the slider to change the maximum and minimum values that you'd like. You can use the checkbox on the left to quickly toggle whether each slider takes effect.

Other options at the bottom are left unchecked, but you can tick boxes such as "Good For Portraits" or "Editor's Choice Award" to put the finishing touches to your search. Once you're happy, click "Search and Save My Results" to see the cameras.

Don't feel this is the end though, as you can easily change the search options by clicking "Refine My Search" or scrolling back up to the search criteria. Using the "Add to Comparisons" or "View Camera Profile" links will allow you to see the full details of the cameras. If you need to return to the search page, click the button as you did before and you'll find your criteria and previous search results there waiting for you.

How do I compare cameras?

Wherever you see a camera, you'll see one of green "Add to Comparisons" icons. If you click this icon, the camera will be added to the "My Camera Comparisons" bar at the top of the page. These will be stored here for you so you can build them up whilst browsing around the site.

To view them side-by-side, click the "Compare" button on that bar. You'll see your cameras along the top and all the specs down the side. You can click through to view the full profile of the camera and then come back or click "Compare" again to see them. As with your search results, these are always saved here for you, no matter where else you go.

What are the cameras awards?

Every camera we review is tested and rated by our Digicambuyer.co.uk experts with only the best products receiving our prestigious awards. See below all of the cameras that have been awarded either the Editor's Choice Award or Best Value Award.

The Editor's Choice award is given to each camera that scores a perfect 5 stars, excelling in all areas. If you're looking for a top camera and can't quite decide which model to purchase, the Digital Camera Essentials Editor's Choice award is a seal of approval from our expert team of reviewers.

The Best Value Award is given to a camera that provides an amazing amount of features or/and image quality for an impressively low price in comparison to its peers. If you're looking for the best possible value for money or are on a tight budget you can't go wrong with a Best Value Award winner.

How do I search for lenses or accessories?

You can search for lenses and accessories by using the drop-down search in the top-right hand corner. Just begin to type the name of what you're looking for and you'll be shown some of the most popular options. You can either click on one of these options, or if there are more results found, click the link below them to see them all.

You can also type directly into this box and click the Search button to see matching results across the whole site - that's cameras, lenses, accessories, news, feature and techniques.
