Similar in specs to the GE A1455 the new J1455 also supports an impressive 14 megapixel sensor and 5x optical zoom. Although the two models have this in common the layout of the body design is different. The dial control for features has been placed on the back panel and one other obvious difference is the buttons, which come in a spherical shape rather then the square ones on the A1455.
The J1455 supports a large 3” LCD screen that is viewable in many varied lighting scenarios and features such as the red eye removal tool on screen and HDR setting make this compact something different from other budget rivals on the market.
For a compact camera the image results produced were to a reasonable level with colour balance coming out on top. In lowlight don’t expect miracles from the J1455 however up until ISO 400 the camera does well to handle image quality.
Looks wise this compact does not blow the socks off the competition however it is practical to use and like the A1455 the J1455 it is readily available in black, silver, and red. This camera will suit those who place practical needs over aesthetics for some snapshot fun.
