Stylish in its contemporary design the GE E1486TW offers the consumer a fashion conscience compact camera at the fraction of the price of its competitors. The E1486TW is the first camera from GE that shows a promising start to their new and improved range. The feel of the E1486TW is most definitely reassuringly sturdy and feels it can withstand the test of time.
Supporting a large 14 megapixel sensor images produced by the E1486TW are to a good standard. The colours appear balanced and saturation levels good. The lens supports an impressive 8x optical zoom teamed with a wide angle lens feature. This makes the E1486TW excellent for landscape and architectural images. The ISO extends up to an impressive 3200 that is reassuring for lowlight shooting.
To switch the GE E1486TW on the on/off button has been situated on the top panel. All other controls apart from the playback, zoom and shutter are controlled on the large 3” touch sensitive LCD screen, which is responsive to operate. The large allocated spaces on the face of the LCD screen have been thoughtfully placed and are generous in size for those with large fingers. To play back images GE has installed a simple playback system that works by flicking the finger across the image to scroll through.
