Review

A smart little compact that offers more than you might expectBuilt with an unusual rounded design, the Canon D10 stands out from the start. The bright blue facade and tough build quality cover means it's perfectly suited to shooting underwater - and it can do this to a depth of 10metres. We really put the D10 through it's paces in this arena, as we took it into the deep blue to shoot wild dolphins in their natural environment. Set on the Underwater scene modes, the colours are great and the camera was responsive enough to capture some great shots of these fast animals. Above water and (remembering to switch off the underwater mode) the D10 also produced high quality, faithfully coloured images here too. Although not quite pocketable - this compact is a lot wider than the slimline versions we're used to seeing - the features it packs are certainly worth a little extra weight, especially if you're a keen snorkeller or have children who will make use of it being drop, shock and waterproof. A great little camera which will be a constant companion on holiday and at home.
