Sony HDR-TG7VE

The Sony HDR-TG7VE is certainly one of the most fashion conscience electronic gadgets around at the moment plus this model has been crammed full of features that will appeal to many. This camcorder will shot full HD video at 1920x1080, comes with 16GB of internal flash memory with optional memory stick slot, a Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens with 10x optical and 120x digital zoom, smile shutter technology and GPS tracking. All pretty impressive!

One area that could be improved is its still capture that only comes with 4 million megapixels however Sony has included its Exmor CMOS sensor that performs well considering it comes with such low resolution. The stills are only going to be snapshots so do not expect anything amazing and really as a dual device the Sony HDR-TG7VE has some way to go. However its not all doom and gloom as cleverly the TG7VE has some other tricks up its sleeve. This advanced gadget uses smile detection and will capture still happy faces automatically when filming although these snapshots produced are of an even lower resolution. The TG7VE also caters 10 different scene modes that help capture moments in a range of lighting conditions and comes with HAD technology that does help reduce noise substantially in lowlight.

One of the Sony TG7VE major selling features is its 2.7” LCD touch screen that is also the on/off switch. This touch screen is easy to use however like all touch screens it can be a little temperamental to use at times and for people with big fingers they may want to get a device to help them navigate through the many menu options.

Looks wise the Sony HDR-TG7VE is very stylish and its lightweight body has been cast from a strong and scratch resilient titanium. All controls are easy to use apart from the photo button/shutter which is awkward to press and far too small. It comes with a charging base that is much simpler to operate rather than trying to fiddle around with connection points and the camcorder can also be connected straight to the computer or television through this base. Finally the TG7VE has built in GPS tracking that means it will pin point all of your images and videos and this feature will certainly impress those who are going on holiday or on a round the world trip.

Final Verdict
This camcorder comes with a Carl Zeiss lens with a flash unit built around for lighting in all weather conditions.
