Canon CanoScan LiDE 700F

DATE REVIEWED: 5th Jun 2009

Review

Return to Latest Accessories »

Simple to set up, the innovative 3-way design that this scanner boasts – with a flip-out stand, which allows it to be used in portrait, landscape or vertical positions - means it should fit neatly into any home office.

The combination of a LiDE scanner with a CIS sensor means that the CanoScan 700F is efficient, requires little energy to run and is capable of producing high quality results. If you’re making the switch to digital and want to archive your old negatives / positives, this scanner can scan them at up to 9600x9600dpi, offering excellent quality and scope for detailed enlargements to be made.

Initiating the scanning process couldn’t be easier – whether you’re scanning negatives, documents, or you’re creating your own ‘scanner art’, simply press the Auto Scan button and the device will automatically detect the size and format of your object. If you want more control, the scanner’s bundled software lets you fine tune all manner of settings. It’s fast, and we found colours were reproduced particularly well, thanks to the scanner’s 48-bit input, with scanned images possessing plenty of depth, clarity and sharpness.

Final Verdict
Easy to use and ideal for people with little office work space.
